22-Acre National Monument
To honor two centuries of military service, Governors Island has maintained multiple structures around its grounds for spectators to enjoy. Castle Williams and Fort Jay are two of the large structures that stand tall today and can be seen by anyone who visits throughout the year.
Slide Hill
Slide Hill is home to New York’s largest slide! This 57-foot long and 3-stories high slide treats guests of the island to a thrilling experience.
Grassy Hill
At 25-feet elevation, guests can relax as you overlook the beautiful grassy acres of the island’s largest park.
Guided Tours
Get to know the island and city of Brooklyn, NY with a free 1 hour guided tour! Tours are available on a first-come-first serve basis. Guests can meet at the Soissons Landing Welcome Center on Saturdays and Sundays to be led by local volunteers.
Discovery Hill
Scenic trees and manicured shrubs cover Discovery Hill to create a scenic walking area for all those who visit. While atop the hill, guests can enjoy Cabin—a permanent-site art installation created by British artist, Rachel Whiteread.
Outlook Hill
Climb to the top of Outlook Hill for 360-degree views of The Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline.

Walk, ride a bike, or take the bus to the nearby Red Hook ferry terminal located 0.6 miles from our hotel.
